Wander through the lush forest of Du Weldenvarden, the elves’ mysterious land, as we explore Ellesméra and its architecture in our latest Art Desk installment!
Christopher often doodles to flesh out events and locations as he writes. While imagining Eragon and Saphira’s first visit to Ellesméra, he explored the landscape and woodland dwellings in these concept sketches:
The elves’ deep appreciation for nature is evident in the architectural style of their villages and cities; they use the ancient language to sing to the plants and trees, willing them to form buildings and other structures.
Christopher’s renditions provided direction for the artists who brought Ellesméra to life in Eragon’s Guide to Alagaësia.
