Greetings friends!
Words, words . . . so many words! This past year saw the publication of The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm, along with a special Barnes and Noble edition of Eragon that includes almost fifty pages of extra content.
Meanwhile, I’m preparing for a tour and closing in on the final chapters of a rewrite of my massive sci-fi novel. Hopefully it will be publishing by the end of this year or the beginning of next.
But . . . another project has been taking shape in my family.
As many of you know, my parents homeschooled me, for which I’m very grateful. People have asked me repeatedly what that experience was like and what curriculum my parents used to inspire my sister and me to read and write. Well . . . after years of work, my mom, Talita, is releasing three new books that show you exactly how she taught us and how you can share these activities with the children in your life.
So without further ado . . . Here’s mom!
Hello everyone!
And thank you, Christopher, for your kind introduction.
I was working as a Montessori preschool teacher when my husband and I met. After Christopher and his sister, Angela, were born, I was thrilled to introduce these little people to this amazing world. But we had little money to buy expensive education books or materials, so I looked for ways to teach them using what I had at home.
Art, games, books, and discussions during the daily routines of life became opportunities to learn. After my children knew the sounds of each letter, they began stringing them together to form words, which led to sentences and then paragraphs. They made little books related to their current interests, be they cats, space ships, stickers, or swords. And, whenever possible, I included an element of movement into the projects, to keep the children active and engaged.
Now I’ve collected these activities into three books that show you, step by step, what I did. Like a recipe, each project begins with a list of things you need and then tells you what to say and do to teach the lesson. Whether you’re a trained teacher or a new parent just starting out, the Paolini Method books show you how to proceed with confidence.
In short, these books take the mystery out of teaching the basics of language, from preschool through third grade. Just follow the steps and watch the children in your care bloom.

I look forward to hearing from you!
