Greetings friends!
Today marks the release of my newest novel, To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. I hope you enjoy it as much as—or even more than—my past work. This project is one I’ve been working on for over seven years. I actually got the idea for it back in 2006/2007, so the story has been a huge part of my life, and I’m excited that you are finally going to get to read it!TSiaSoS release
To Sleep is my love letter to the genre of science fiction and also my attempt to capture the sense of awe and wonder that I feel when I look up at the stars at night and imagine the future humanity will hopefully have out among them. And I do believe that humanity is going to have that future. I know we face a lot of challenges day-to-day, personally and as a species, but when we come together and work hard, I think we’re going to build amazing things. So this book is my vision of what that future might hold, and also my attempt to tell a story that will make you laugh, groan at some bad puns, perhaps scare you a bit, but will ultimately leave you—hopefully—with that sense of awe and wonder. And maybe a little bit of bittersweet ache that the story itself is over.
So thank you again for getting To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. Enjoy the story. And as one of the characters in the book would say, “Eat the path.” From Montana, planet Earth, in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, this is Christopher Paolini, signing off.
p.s. I’m going on a virtual tour in the U.S. and the U.K.!
p.p.s. You can get a copy of the book from any of your favorite bookstores.
